I think... I think Fai will probably resent Kurogane a lot and be very bitter whatever his external actions are like, but I'm not sure that will extend to hate.

don't worry, I yet said in another comment that 'hate' was not the word I was needing ;_; as you said and as stated below , here:

Just because he keeps smiling, it doesn't necessarily mean he's come to accept it. this will only make him suffer more because of Kurogane, he will be 'bitter' with him even while smiling....... sad, but true.

about the unmei and shukumei thing, would ummei mean someting like destiny and shukumei mean something like fate? like... unmei being something what will happen to you, and shukumei being something already set that will happen to you?

i'm not too sure, since i'm pretending they are chinese characters but i hope this is right .___.

Very nice job on the translation! I have a suggestion for これからも笑っているからといって。[korekara mo waratteiru kara to itte]--I would translate it as, [No matter what method you use...] "After this as well, because he's smiling, however," [that child is not bound by what has been agreed to].

I don't know, I'm not sure mine makes any more sense really. Clearly kara can't be "from" in a temporal or place sense, it has to be causal, but I think "to itte" is meant more in a generalized sense like "dakedo," which would also explain why it's hanging at the end of that speech bubble. No problem! As for the problem sentence, I asked my girlfriend (native speaker), and she said it means "Just because he keeps smiling, it doesn't necessarily mean he's come to accept it." Now I know what it means I can see where it came from, but 限る is a verb I haven't really got a concrete working knowledge of yet so I can see where I went wrong.

I adore Tales of Symphonia, but I think my favourite has to be Tales of Phantasia-- it's the first Tales game, and though it took me a while to click Symphonia is set in the same universe, 4000 years in the past.

Hee, that's cool, I knew what you meant. I haven't played Legendia yet, though I do own it. I've played... Tales of Destiny, Phantasia, Symphonia and Narikiri Dungeon 1 (Phantasia spin-off for GBC). I'm about to start ToDII when I've got some free time.

Which version of Phantasia are you playing? Super Nintendo, PS or GBA?

Got it, actually, but I found when I started playing it that it isn't as good if you haven't played a lot of tales games-- borrows characters and scenarios from every tales up to Symphonia, and this was before I'd played Destiny so I'd only played two out of five or so. Narikiri 1 is only a side story to Tales of Phantasia. I also have Tales of the World: Narikiri II and Tales of the World: Summoner's Lineage (about Klarth's descendent, both for GBA). Do you want any of the roms for those?

Man, it was fun to read this, since I did a translation of my own. (nothing to do at work, bleh) I'm rather proud of the fact that I did pretty well. XD But I agree with you. The part on page 299 has me stumped, too. It seemed to me Yuuko was saying some like, "From now, too, he'll smile because that child (does something) to the best of his ability." Meh. Maybe someone else knows?

OH MY T_T... what Yuuko and Mokochan said made me understand that Fye-sama will have a horrible time for coming TOT. Mokona is right, he is so kind T_T and the idea to survive with someone else blood (SPECIALLY KURO'S BLOOD!!) is something unbearable!! and if you add the guilt from couldn't do 'anything really useful for help Shaokun' (<- Fye POV, surely ¬¬U) then Fye's life will feel like shit, poor cutely boy TTOTT... is obvious that Yuuko (and Kurorin) know that Fye will reject the entire situation and others company, and she just want that Kurochan understand that for the sake of both future (Kuro and Fye)... it's Hitsuzen, and it can be so cruel!!! TTTTOTTTT
